| Many people have never been to a self-service dog wash and don’t know what to expect. Here are some questions we’ve been hearing a lot. If you’re looking for Playcare and Boarding FAQs, please click here. |
How much does a self-service dog wash cost? Each self-service dog wash is only $15. Less for smaller pets. A wash at Mud Puppies is easy, affordable and fun! |
I can wash my dog at home. Why do I need Mud Puppies? Yes, you can wash your dog at home, but it can be a big, messy ordeal for both you and your dog. The preparation, the bending, the kneeling, the lifting and not to mention the clean-up can be an arduous task. By the time it’s over, your house looks like a wet hair bomb went off, and you and your dog aren’t too happy with one another. We provide everything to make the process quick, painless, and affordable. |
Why don’t I just shoot ‘em down with the hose? This method, favored by some, is simply a last resort option for the rest of us. We don’t all have access to a yard or a garden hose. Those of us who do have to deal with the pitfalls of washing the dog this way: they get dirty again right away (standing in the mud puddle you’ve created), they don’t dry off fast enough, and it’s still hard on our backs and knees. At Mud Puppies, along with many other benefits, our clean indoor facilities include high-velocity blowers that will have your pet fluff dried in minutes. |
Can I bring my own supplies to wash/groom my pet? Sure. You’re welcome to bring in your own favorites if you’d like. However, there will still be an additional fee of $8 even if you do bring your own clippers. This fee is really for the extra clean-up and occupied tub space. |
Will you wash my dog for me? YES. For an additional fee, we offer a drop-off wash option where we will wash your dog for you. It includes a brush, bath and fluff dry. No appointment is necessary, but please call first for availability. We also offer nail trimming and full-service grooming. For more questions about these services, please give us a call or come visit us! |
Won’t my dog slip and slide in the tub and on the grooming platform? No. We have special non-slip rubber material in each washing station that covers the floor, easy-access ramps and grooming platforms. In addition, we’ve provided restraints in every tub and on the grooming counter to prevent your pet from jumping out of the tub or off the grooming platform. |
What else do you offer? After washing your pet, reward them with a cool toy or yummy treat. We sell all sorts of pet novelties, toys, grooming tools and treats that both you and your pet can enjoy. Also, if you love your pet as much as we love ours, you may want to consider getting a custom pet portrait painted by one of our local artists. Charlotte Soens is a talented painter that has been perfecting her craft for decades, specializing in dog and horse portraits. See her art displayed at Mud Puppies, purchase an already painted masterpiece, or order a custom portrait that captures the personality of your pet. Mud Puppies also offers other doggie services such as full-service grooming, doggie playcare and doggie boarding. |
